Scope Of Services
For the past ten years, CMT has provided repair, calibration and certification of test, measurement and diagnostics equipment at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. As one of the county’s premier aerospace equipment focused labs, CMT’s Electro Chemical (EC) Laboratory operates under the Air Force 45th Space Wing to support government and commercial space flight operations. Our laboratory customers include space, military, defense and intelligence agencies including NASA, Air Force, Army, Military Sea Lift Command, Coast Guard, and the National Reconnaissance Organization.
The lab has an unparalleled record of performance in meeting our customer’s delivery schedules and requirements particularly where personnel protection equipment is utilized on dangerous high-stakes pre-launch operations. This includes extensive support to SpaceX ongoing cargo missions.
Calibration is the process of comparing and adjusting, if necessary, an item to the calibration standards used by the EC Lab. Equipment handled by the lab includes x-ray systems, oxygen analyzers, mass spectrophotometers, ultra violet analyzers, hydrogen detectors, multi gas detectors, gas chromatographs, inductively coupled plasma and fourier transform infrared systems. Aerosol and liquid particle counters which are used to protect payloads while they are being serviced at Cape Canaveral, the Kennedy Space Center and commercial clean rooms are also maintained here. Maintenance and calibration of most portable toxic vapor detectors is also performed at this site. In addition, calibration gas is generated in the lab, placed in sample containers, and taken to locations requiring on site calibration.
Below are a few of the services we provided:
EC Lab maintenance responsibilities also include direct support of the Air Force Aerospace Fuels Laboratory. This laboratory is a complete service chemical laboratory providing quality assurance/quality control support to DOD, NASA, contractors, and all authorized range users.
CMT’s EC Lab also services equipment for the top aerospace commercial contractors including Lockheed (vapor detectors/particle counters), Boeing’s GPS facilities, and United Launch Alliance.
